Counter Terrorism Policing have launched its biggest-ever advertising campaign as part of ACT: Action Counters Terrorism.
The campaign aims to encourage the public to remain vigilant, look out for suspicious behaviour and inform people how to report their concerns, providing a ‘whole society’ approach where police, security staff, retail workers and the public come together to minimise the chance of attacks and mitigate the impact they can have.
Counter terrorism policing and local forces work with us throughout the year to give advice and guidance on safety and security measures. Whilst there’s no specific threat to an event or venue the threat level for the UK remains at Severe, and last year’s events showed us that attacks can happen at any time or place without warning. Our priority is the safety and security of all those attending our events and the public are encouraged to continue with their plans to enjoy all events.
Our supporters can help us keep our events and areas safe by being vigilant for anyone or anything that looks out of place or suspicious and reporting it to a member of staff, security or police. You can also get in touch to report anything suspicious confidentially via www.gov.uk/ACT or 0800 789 321. In an emergency always call 999.
