AVIVA TAG RUGBY PROGRAMME FESTIVAL AT DARLINGTON MOWDEN PARK
The Aviva programme aims to increase youth participation in local clubs through involvement in tag rugby during school time. The programme is aimed at school year 4 age group and hopes to encourage new starters in rugby and sport in general.
Tag rugby is used to develop core skills of the players as well as fitness and agility, hoping to enhance the enthusiasm for the game!
The schools involved were Abbey Primary, St. Augustin’s, Hurworth, Mowden Primary and Firthmoor School who all played some fantastic games of tag rugby.
Hurworth school fought off stiff competition to be victorious at this festival and they will relish this confidence boost when they attend the Aviva premeirship rugby schools programme demonstration game at Twickenham duringthe Aviva premiership final in May.
Congratulations to all those involved!
