Carreras claims try of the season award

The 23-year-old Argentine international earned the award for his scintillating score away at Northampton Saints in the tightly contested affair that saw the hosts edge the Falcons 32-31.

Carreras has enjoyed a stellar season in the North East, scoring 13 tries in the league. This saw him place as runner up in the top try scorer charts, finishing behind Harlequins’ wing Cadan Murley, who topped the list with 15.

Carreras was also named Player of Round 15 following his hat-trick against Leicester Tigers in an emphatic 45-26 victory over the champions, as well as claiming multiple try of the month awards.

The winger also enjoyed a clean sweep at the club’s end-of-season awards, taking home prizes for players’ player, coaches’ player and fans’ try of the season.
