Falcons’ Aviva Premiership crowds up 29%
A rise in Aviva Premiership attendances of 29.6% compared to the first three home games last season is underlining Newcastle Falcons’ impressive start to the 2017/18 season.
23,625 supporters have filed through the stadium’s turnstiles for games against Worcester Warriors, London Irish and Leicester Tigers, which presented the club with its first 10,100 sell-out in nine years.
That capacity crowd provided an even better reading for the Falcons, with the Leicester fixture seeing a whopping 53.7% rise on the same match twelve months earlier.
And with the next Aviva Premiership Rugby clash against Gloucester Rugby on Friday November 24 also set for a bumper crowd, along with an anticipated sell out for the pre-Christmas game against Harlequins, tickets for Kingston Park Stadium are proving to be among of the hottest in town.
Newcastle Rugby Ltd managing director Mick Hogan said: “It is great to see that the attractive and exciting rugby that is being played by the team has been recognised with more and more people wanting to see the Falcons live.
“To see Kingston Park Stadium filled for the Tigers game was tremendous. It was a great example of how an on-form team, a hard-working marketing & communications department plus the improvements we have made in the match-day experience are starting to bear fruit.
“To be just short of a 30% increase at this stage of the season is really encouraging and with teams like reigning champions Exeter, Bath and Wasps all still to come, there is genuine scope for that figure to rise further by the end of the season.”
Tickets for the next two Aviva Premiership Games versus Gloucester (Friday 24th November) and Harlequins (Saturday 23rd December) are selling fast. To book your ticket **[click here][1]** or ring 0871 226 6060.
