The match will be played at Doncaster’s Castle Park ground with a 2.30pm kick-off.

The Falcons will also have an away fixture against a top-flight club on Friday August 25. Details of this game will be announced once the host club have confirmed the venue, kick-off time and ticket arrangements.

Newcastle’s pre-season action begins with the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s at Northampton’s Franklin’s Gardens on Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29, for which they have been drawn in a group with Leicester Tigers and holders Wasps.

The first 15-a-side action of pre-season comes on Saturday August 12 when Kingston Park Stadium hosts a double-header against Championship sides Doncaster Knights (2pm) and Nottingham (4.30pm).

That is followed by the visit of Championship outfit Rotherham Titans to Kingston Park Stadium on Saturday August 19, with a 4.30pm kick-off.

Entry to all three home friendlies is included in the price of the season ticket membership package for 2017-18. Non-season ticket members can gain entry for £10 adults and £5 juniors.

Only the West and East Stands will be open, therefore season ticket members in the South and North Stands are asked to contact the ticket office to be upgraded to the West Stand.
