In the week that he signed for Newcastle Falcons, Max Pepper has been called into the Great Britain 7s squad for this weekend’s event in Croatia.

The 23-year-old Durham University student has enjoyed a busy couple of weeks, having been capped by England Students, finishing his degree, winning the BUCS Super Rugby Player of the Season award and joining the Falcons on a full-time basis.

His international sevens debut has now followed, with Pepper forming part of a 12-man group for the Rugby Europe event in Makarska.

Great Britain are in a group with Spain, Belgium and Lithuania for the three-day tournament, which starts on Friday.

GB’s first game is against Belgium at 12 noon UK time, followed by Lithuania at 5.10pm. Day two sees the British tackling Spain at 12.22pm UK time, followed by the knock-out rounds during the remainder of the Saturday and Sunday schedule.
