Georgia on Harris’ mind
Centre Chris Harris is building towards the new season as the Falcons squad return to their preparations, with the first XV a side action of the new campaign less than four weeks away.
Having successfully completed the initial phases of pre season, Harris and his team mates now have the test of an international challenge match against Georgia to look forward to on August 28th, before kicking off the inaugural Kings of the North tournament against Sale and Leicester in September.
They are games that Harris hopes will validate the hard work currently being undertaken in training.
“The Georgia game is a big one as it’s our first game and it will be about getting into our patterns and getting into our defensive shape. There’s new boys coming in and stuff like that. It will be a really big opportunity for everyone to get involved and getting a run out to test how pre season has gone in terms of fitness and skills.”
Now a fully fledged member of the senior squad, the 24 year old Cumbrian is keen to maintain the upward trajectory of his career while targeting personal progression to establish himself within the squad.
He added “I hope I can progress more, I’m here permanently now rather than being up and down from Rotherham and it’s another opportunity, especially this initial part of pre season to try and keep that jersey.”
