Newcastle Falcons are saddened to learn of the death of our former coach, Jack Rowell OBE, at the age of 87.

Jack helped steer the club to two Twickenham John Player Cup final victories back in our Gosforth era, winning the trophy in 1976 and 1977.

Later moving on to enjoy huge success at Bath, Jack also took the reins as England coach and earned a Grand Slam as well as reaching the 1995 Rugby World Cup semi-final.

All at Newcastle Falcons would like to pass on our condolences to Jack’s family and friends.

Rest in peace.
