KIBIRIGE TRY A YOUTUBE SENSATION
The Middlesbrough-born teenager, who is a product of the Newcastle Falcons academy system, scored the pick of England’s 10 tries as the Red Rose nation ran riot in the North East.
Pouncing on a loose ball on his own 22, the 19-year-old fended off a series of Welsh defenders before sprinting the length of the field to touchdown in emphatic fashion under the posts.
“It was a lucky little break to get it when I did,” Kibirige said modestly.
“The space seemed to open up, and that is what I like to do,” he added.
Nominated for the LV= Breakthrough Award after impressing in the competition this term, the Teessider has a bright future on Tyneside.
Acknowledging the support from the Kingston Park faithful, the former Yarm School pupil said: “Being on my home ground made it a little extra special, having so many family and friends in the crowd. The fans gave me brilliant support, and playing for your country in your home region has got to be right up there.”
