Legends Line Up Confirmed
With less than two weeks to go until some of the biggest names in Falcons history return to Kingston Park Stadium, Newcastle Falcons has released its full list of players confirmed to date.
With players such as Matt Burke, Jamie Noon and Rob Andrew amongst those previously confirmed, the game is already a hotly anticipated event proving popular amongst fans.
However, the club can now confirm that a host of additional players will also be involved in the game including 24-times capped Scotland international and current five nations champion Peter Walton and 100 Club Member Hall Charlton, as well as current Falcons coaches Andy Perry and James Ponton.
Elsewhere in the game fans will be able to watch the likes of Samoan internationals Junior Paramore, Opeta Palepoi and Alfie To’oala in action as well alongside a host of other Southern Hemisphere players.
Speaking of the game, Rugby World Cup Events Officer and former Falcon Andy Buist said: “There’s already a massive buzz around the Legends game thanks to the players we’ve announced already and the fact that rugby is at the top of everyone’s agenda at the moment.
“There are a number of players still to be announced for the game but to be able to confirm so many more players of such a high calibre gives an indication as to the high level of entertainment our fans can expect a week on Friday.
“The players are all excited to get back out on the field, especially those on the Falcons Legends team who will be more than familiar to local rugby fans, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they live up to fan memories of days gone by!”
Taking place at Kingston Park Stadium on Friday 2nd October (ko 7.45pm), the Legends game will see a team of Falcons Legends take on a Southern Hemisphere Legends XV.
The game, all proceeds from which will go to the Falcons Community Foundation and rugby charity Wooden Spoon, is part of Newcastle Falcons’ programme of events to celebrate the arrival of Rugby World Cup 2015 into Newcastle.
Tickets for the game are available to buy now [online][1], in person from the Kingston Park Stadium Box Office or by calling the Falcons’ Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060.
