A League Team News

Monday 24 September 2012

Newcastle Falcons have named their side ahead of tonight’s Aviva A League clash with Northampton Saints at Blaydon RFC's Crow Trees ground (kick-off 7pm).

James Fitzpatrick, Grant Shiells and Sean Tomes, who were all on standby for yesterday’s game at Cornish Pirates, get the nod.

Fitzpatrick forms a mouth-watering centre combination with Jamie Helleur, who came off the bench for the closing minutes of the Falcons’ victory in Penzance.

Jordi Pasqualin is handed the No.9 jersey while Alex Tait gets the chance to impress at full-back with Michael Tait and Suka Hufanga on either wing.

The Falcons will be aiming to bounce back from their defeat at Leicester Tigers a fortnight ago as they continue their campaign under academy manager Mark Laycock and academy head coach James Ponton.

Ponton said: “Tonight will be another tough challenge for us and I am really looking forward to seeing the lads in action against a strong Northampton side.

“With entry free for tonight’s game it would be great if we could get a good crowd to support the guys.
