Newcastle Falcons’ Jamie Blamire will be part of the England Under-20’s squad aiming for a Six Nations Grand Slam against Ireland at Donnybrook Stadium on Friday (6pm kick-off).
The 19-year-old hooker, who scored a try in the 46–0 triumph over Italy at Darlington’s Northern Echo Arena last month, lines up on the bench for the match which, if won, will see the Under-20s take their first Grand Slam since 2011.
England Under-20s coach Ian Vass said: “We have been working hard on making sure the players concentrate on how they perform and don’t focus too much on the occasion. It’s important we prepare ourselves mentally and physically like we have previously in the tournament, and hopefully the result will take care of itself.
“Scotland was a stern test for us but we came through it positively, and facing Ireland on St Patrick’s Day will be another massive challenge.”
