In the week that he could make his 100th appearance for the club, Simon Hammersley has hit another milestone in the Opta stats.
The Newcastle Falcons full-back played the full 80 minutes during Sunday's 17-6 home win over Worcester Warriors, and in doing so became the first player in this season's Gallagher Premiership to pass the 1,000 metre mark with ball in hand.
Hammersley carried for 130 metres during Sunday's victory, in what was his 99th competitive game for the club.
Newcastle Falcons' next home game is on Saturday March 23 when The Big One at St James' Park sees Hammersley and his side tackling northern rivals Sale Sharks.
