Falcons fly half hails the support of the crowd in Aviva Premiership win over Bath

Craig Willis held his nerve in front of the club’s biggest attendance of the season to date on Saturday as he scored two crucial penalties in the final 10 minutes to hand his side a 19-14 victory over Bath in the Aviva Premiership.

The 20 year old fly half’s first start in the league at Kingston Park, which followed his league debut away at Welford Road the week prior, saw him perform well with ball in hand and in tricky conditions as the Falcons secured a well deserved win.

Speaking to Falcons TV post match on Saturday, Willis was in a relaxed frame of mind and said playing in front of big crowds was something that was helping him rise to the challenge of top flight rugby.

“It’s something that gives you more energy and a buzz to go out and play. Making my Premiership debut at Leicester on Boxing Day was a big thing for me personally and having been able to do that, you can play in any stadium. Today was good with a big crowd that was very vocal and it was good to be able to use that to kick on from my debut.”
