Memorial details have been confirmed for former Gosforth fly-half David 'Banty' Johnson, who sadly passed away last week.
Johnson was a well-known figure on the rugby circuit who represented England A and England Under-23s as well as playing for Gosforth, Northumberland and North of England for well over a decade.
Banty also represented North-East clubs including Seghill, Blaydon and Northern in a distinguished career, passing away last week at the age of 60.
His memorial service will be held at St Aidan's Church in Brunton Park at 2pm on Friday April 22, followed by a gathering in the West Stand at Newcastle Falcons' Kingston Park stadium at 4pm to celebrate David's life. All friends, family and former team-mates are invited to attend.
