Former Springbok Thinus Deport has become the latest to confirm that he will be playing in the Falcons Legends game this October.
The latest name to be added to the line up for this October’s Falcons Legends vs Southern Hemisphere Legends game is former Springbok Thinus Delport.
Best known as a Fullback and Wing, Delport made his international debut for South Africa against Canada in 2000 and went on to appear 18 times for the former World Champions.
Probably best known to British rugby fans for his four year stint at Worcester Warriors, Delport originally moved to the UK in 2002 to play for Gloucester, before moving on to Worcester two seasons later, where he would go on to play over 100 times.
Despite leaving the country in 2008 to play for Japanese side Kobeko Steelers, Delport returned to the UK in 2010 to coach National League 1 side Stourbridge.
Delport will play for the Southern Hemisphere XV against a team of Falcons Legends in the game, which will be held at Kingston Park Stadium on 2nd October.
Other players already confirmed for the game include Falcons Legends such as Micky Ward, Hugh Vyvyan, Tom May, Carlo del Fava, Michael Stephenson, Epi Taione and Marius Hurta for the game, as well as fellow Sprinboks Stefan Terblanche and Andre Snyman.
Tickets for the Legends game are available to order now online, in person from the Kingston Park Stadium Box Office or by calling the Falcons’ 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 starting from just £10 for adults and £5 for juniors.
