Elm Group (Stafford) Ltd have become the main partner of the renowned Newcastle Falcons Academy. The initial partnership will run for the remainder of this season and the 2018/19 campaign.
Newcastle Falcons’ highly-successful academy has established itself as the bedrock of the club, promoting the best of local rugby talent onto the first team stage as well as leading the way on player welfare and education. This year alone has seen academy graduates Mark Wilson and Chris Harris achieving international honours for England and Scotland respectively. Meanwhile, a number of fellow homegrown players have prospered during the club’s best start to a season in almost 20 years.
Elm Group’s companies are focused on continued development and education, using innovative platforms and collaborations to deliver training and development to different groups across the world. Managing director Martin Lennon commented: “The ELM Group focuses on education and development of people and systems. The association with an elite sports group such as Newcastle Falcons, and specifically its highly-rated academy, is a great opportunity for our group.”
Elm Group will also be the official partner on developing a volunteer programme with Newcastle Falcons which will support home games plus events such as The Big One at St James' Park on March 24 and next year's European club rugby finals.
Newcastle Falcons’ managing director Mick Hogan said: “It’s a tremendous boost that Elm Group Ltd will be supporting the Newcastle Falcons Academy. Our academy is built around continual improvement and striving to achieve levels of excellence. Elm Group share those values in their day to day work programmes, so the partnership is a natural fit.
“They have already started work with the club on developing what we believe will be an outstanding and innovative volunteer programme, and they have considerable experience in this area. With their support the Falcons will be able offering volunteering opportunities that will enhance the Kingston Park match-day experience as well as supporting the big games happening at St James’ Park.”
