Newcastle Falcons thank fans for vocal support

As Newcastle Falcons continue their unbeaten home run, the club would like to thank fans for their increasingly vocal home support.

With players and coaches alike having commented on the effect a vocal Kingston Park Stadium crowd had on recent victories over Bath and Harlequins, the club is hailing home supporters for their part in the Falcons’ recent home success.

Speaking in the club’s match day programme for the game against Harlequins, try scorer Bobby Vickers commented:

“It’s an old cliché but the home crowd make a huge difference, especially when you can feel the crowd pushing you on. Playing to the South Stand at the end they just sort of draw you in, which is great, and makes a huge difference to the players.”

The Prop’s words proved somewhat prophetic when a late surge of play in yesterday’s match sent the Kingston Park faithful wide, the South Stand playing their part in drawing the Falcons ever-closer to the try line in order for Vickers himself to score.

Following the club’s 26-19 victory over Harlequins, Managing Director Mick Hogan said:

“The result over Harlequins was absolutely fantastic and there’s no denying that our fans played a huge part in that match. They’ve been fantastic this season and especially over the last four matches when they’ve been particularly loud in cheering the team to victory. The atmosphere within Kingston Park Stadium last night was the best I’ve known it in years.

"The absolutely electric support our fans generate plays such a key part in every success we have and with three huge home matches over the next month we're very much looking to extend our recent unbeaten home run!"

The Falcons are next in action at home on 12th February (ko 7.45pm) against Leicester Tigers in their first Friday night match of 2016.

Always a big game, the Falcons’ current home record combined with Leicester’s recent run of form as they sit at third in the table is sure to make this an even more hotly anticipated encounter.

Tickets for the game are available now online, in person from the Kingston Park Stadium East Stand Box Office or by calling the Falcons’ 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060, starting from £15 for adults and £7.50 for juniors.
