Tonga centre Cooper Vuna is tackled against Fiji

Newcastle Falcons centre Josh Matavesi was on the Fiji bench as they defeated Tonga 29-19 in Auckland on Saturday.

Falcons team-mates Sonatane Takulua and Cooper Vuna both started for Tonga in the Eden Park clash.

Club-mate Logovi'i Mulipola did not feature for Samoa in their game against the New Zealand Heartland XV in the curtain-raiser to the Fiji v Tonga test, but the prop-forward was later named in Samoa's squad for Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan.

This coming weekend sees Tonga facing world champions New Zealand in Hamilton, a game which kicks off at 3.35am UK time.

England face Italy at Newcastle's St James' Park, with Italy training at the Falcons' Kingston Park base in preparation for Friday's 7.45pm kick-off. To buy tickets for the match please click here.

Mulipola's Samoa face Australia in Sydney on Saturday, kicking off at 10.30am UK time, while lock Greg Peterson's USA Eagles meet Canada in Vancouver later the same day in an 11pm UK-time kick-off.
