Hitz, Move Like a Pro and Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup sees Falcons present at Aviva Premiership final
Representatives of three Falcons Community Foundation programmes were part of Aviva Premiership Rugby’s big day out at Twickenham last weekend, as a host of grassroots projects came together at the home of English rugby.
Taking part in a pre-match parade of clubs that had taken part in Land Rover Premiership Rugby cups over the course of season 2017/18, Houghton RFC U11s and Percy Park U12s also took part in a pre-match Q & A with Land Rover ambassadors.
Also enjoying a trip to the season’s showcase match, three students of the Hitz programme at the club came together with their counterparts from across the league for a series of team building challenges organised through the Royal Navy, before enjoying an inspirational talk from Nike sponsored triathlete John McAvoy.
Completing the trio of Foundation programmes in attendance, members of the Move Like a Pro group from season 17/18 met for a pre-match touch festival at Kneller Hall, where the Falcons men won three out of their four games.
All four groups then went on to take their places in the stadium to see Saracens lift the Aviva Premiership Rugby trophy for the final time, with the competition becoming Gallagher Premiership Rugby as of season 2018/19.
The Falcons Community Foundation (reg. charity 1107851) has been in existence since 2005 and is responsible for the delivery of the Newcastle Falcons’ community objectives.
