Four Out Of Four For Richards As Falcons Smash Run

Sunday 23 September 2012

Dean Richards has called on fans to flood through the turnstiles for this Friday’s RFU Championship showdown with Leeds Carnegie at Kingston Park (kick-off 8pm).

Speaking after seeing his side make it four wins out of four with victory at Cornish Pirates on Sunday, the Falcons chief wants fans to take advantage of the buy one get one free ticket deal as the Falcons’ promotion charge gathers pace.

“We have made a solid start to the season and next week will be another tough game for us against Leeds as we look to maintain our run of wins,” said Richards.

“The club has put into place a buy one get one three deal on all tickets and it would be great if we could pack Kingston Park to the rafters,” added Richards.

The northeasterners move two points clear of Bedford Blues at the top of the Championship tree following their 25-3 triumph at the Mennaye Field.

Richards was generally happy with his side’s performance, describing it as a ‘job well done’ in Penzance.

He said: “With the conditions the way that they were it was important that we took our time and picked our plays.

“They are of course a very good side and we gave them a lot of respect coming into this game as we knew they would be difficult opposition.

“I thought we handled the conditions a little bit better than what they did in fairness.”
