Greene King have joined the growing list of supporters for Saturday’s inaugural Newcastle Festival of Rugby, having agreed to sponsor the tournament’s prize money.
Newcastle Falcons’ main club partner have put their weight behind the event at Kingston Park Stadium, which sees a full day of sevens action getting underway from 10.30am.
Entry is free for all supporters, with three competitions taking place.
The men’s elite sevens sees entrants including the RED Wailers, Irish Wolfhounds and a composite side from Scottish Borders clubs, Mighty Peth, the Cardinals and Tynedale RFC while the men’s social competition has a host of local rugby clubs doing battle.
There is also a women’s competition, the action-packed event seeing a BBQ, drinks promotions and Spark Radio providing music within the stadium, which will be showing the Aviva Premiership live on TV.
