Aviva Premiership rugby union side Newcastle Falcons have announced leading sports nutrition brand Nutrition X will become the club’s official nutrition partner for the next two seasons.
The partnership will see the Gloucestershire-based brand supply the club products to meet all of the nutritional needs of its squad of players, including current internationals Evan Olmstead (Canada), Vereniki Goneva (Fiji), Jon Welsh (Scotland), Nili Latu and Sonatane Takulua (both Tonga).
Joining a stable of partners that include Castleford Tigers, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Widnes Vikings, the new agreement will see the Falcons supplied with products that are batch tested in the Laboratory of Government Chemist’s (LGC) internationally recognised anti-doping laboratory.
Regarded to be one of the most specific sports nutrition ranges in the market place, thanks to the vast experience and knowledge of the company’s team of nutritionists, Nutrition X products are certified on the Informed-Sport programme which means they are extensively tested for substances listed on the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) list of banned substances to ensure compliance.
Head of athletic performance at Newcastle Falcons, Kevin McShane, said: “We are really excited to have secured a partnership with Nutrition X for the next two seasons. They are a great brand with research backed, no-nonsense products that will ensure we maximise our preparation for the coming season.”
Nutrition X managing director James Markey said of the partnership: “We are incredibly proud to announce that Nutrition X has been appointed as the official nutrition partner to Newcastle Falcons. It is testament to our product range, developed by the Nutrition X experts, to have been chosen as the official partner to this top level Premiership rugby union team.
“We are dedicated to delivering first class support to our ambassador clubs and look forward to supporting the team with our products which, through the Informed-Sport programme, can give the players and coaches a level of quality assurance they can trust. We wish the team the very best of luck for the season ahead.”
