The final allocation of tickets for the Heineken Champions Cup Final will go on general sale on Friday 29 March from the Newcastle United FC box office. Just over 1,000 tickets have been made available by Newcastle 2019 organisers and EPCR for the game on Saturday 11th May at St James’ Park.
With well over 40,000 tickets sold only the last 1,000 tickets, the two finalists’ allocations and the few remaining hospitality places, are left to achieve the stadium capacity. The available tickets will be available across three of the seven price categories, with all other areas now sold out.
Supporters will also be able to purchase tickets to the European Rugby Challenge Cup Final at the same venue on Friday 10th May. Sales for this game remain strong and are soon expected to eclipse the highest ever UK-based final attendance of 24,494 for this competition, set in Edinburgh in 2017. All four ticket price categories are available for the game together with a new recently-released allocation of Premium tickets within the main Milburn Stand.
Speaking about the ticket sales Newcastle 2019 event director Mick Hogan said: “The Newcastle 2019 Finals tickets continue to be in high demand for what will undoubtedly be the greatest weekend in rugby.
“The final allocation of general admission tickets includes a good number of premium and category 1 sections for what is already the fastest-selling Heineken Champions Cup Final in the tournament’s history. We are also confident of a big crowd at the European Rugby Challenge Cup Final 24 hours earlier so would encourage supporters to purchase as early as possible to have the best choice of seats.
“With the quarter-finals of both competitions set to be staged this weekend the excitement levels for the Newcastle 2019 Finals are increasing by the day. We are looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of rugby supporters to the city for this world class event.”
