Round-up: Falcons trio on international duty

Saturday 12 November 2016

Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Sonatane Takulua shone for Tonga on a weekend when he and his club-mates were spread right around Europe on international duty.

Takulua, who led Tonga's pre-match Sipi-Tau, scored a try and kicked four conversions from four as his side defeated Spain 28-13 in Madrid.

Newcastle lock Nick Civetta earned his first international cap after starting for the USA in their 23-10 loss to Romania in Bucharest - Evan Olmstead completing the trio of Falcons in test match action.

The lock-forward started for Canada in their 52-21 defeat to Ireland in Dublin, the visitors having shocked the Aviva Stadium crowd by drawing level 14-14 at half-time before Ireland pulled away.
