Kingston Park Stadium will host a full day of sevens action on Saturday May 28 when the Newcastle Festival of Rugby is held at the home of Newcastle Falcons.
Entry for all supporters is free on the day as Kingston Park and the surrounding pitches host four tournaments – a competitive men’s event, social men’s, a women’s competition and a mixed-sex touch rugby tournament.
Entries are being taken across all four categories, with two taster sessions (April 6 and April 13) being held for teams interested in the mixed touch.
Priced at £10 per player for the full day, the Newcastle Festival of Rugby sees squads of 10 for the touch competition and 12 for all other categories.
The winners of the men’s competitive tournament will progress through to subsequent regional semi-finals, with the possibility of appearing in the national finals in June.
The Newcastle Festival of Rugby places a big emphasis on being a family event, with inflatables, music, fancy dress competitions and entertainment on the day as well as food and drink within the stadium.
