Six From Six As Run Goes On

Saturday 6 October 2012

Dean Richards lauded his side’s display following a comprehensive 53-13 victory at Moseley in the RFU Championship.

The North East outfit, who made it six wins out of six with a bonus point triumph against the West Midlands club, currently reign supreme in the attack and defence stakes in the Championship to top the table.

Fellow promotion hopefuls Bedford put surprise package Plymouth Albion to the sword with a 55-17 triumph to sit two points behind leaders Falcons.

“We didn’t expect anything more than a hard confrontational game against Moseley, and that’s exactly what we got,” said Richards.

Against Bristol last week they showed what they could do and from our perspective we just came here to do a job.

“I don’t think we were as slick as we have been in the backline but we will look at that and work on it – to come down here and win by more than 50 points is a very good result,” added Richards.

Now attentions turn to the British and Irish Cup which now takes centre stage with the Falcons hosting Cross Keys next Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
