Wednesday 7 August 2019

Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Sonatane Takulua will be vice-captain for Tonga on Friday when they conclude their Pacific Nations Cup campaign against Canada.

Club-mate Cooper Vuna is on the bench for the Ikale Tahi for a match which will be played in Lautoka, Fiji, with a 4am UK-time kick-off.

Tonga will be aiming to bounce back from a heavy defeat away to Japan last weekend, also losing their opening game 25-17 away to Samoa.

A busy weekend of rugby action also sees Mark Wilson as part of the England squad preparing to meet Wales on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off at Twickenham.

Newcastle lock Greg Peterson starts for the USA in Saturday's Pacific Nations Cup title decider, when they take on Japan in the Fijan capital of Suva at 5.35am UK time.

Josh Matavesi is on the bench for Fiji on Saturday in Suva, meanwhile, when they host a Samoa side which sees Logovi'i Mulipola starting at tight-head prop, kicking off at 8.15am UK time.

All Pacific Nations Cup games will be streamed in the UK via the World Rugby website.
