Tuesday 27 August 2019

Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Sonatane Takulua scored two tries for Tonga in Saturday's 19-15 home win over Australian side, Western Force.

Takulua came on from the bench to grab a decisive brace, with the game played at Teufaiva Stadium in the Tongan capital, Nuku'alofa.

Falcons team-mate Mark Wilson, meanwhile, came on from the bench during England's 57-15 victory over Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday.

This weekend's international schedule sees Takulua and fellow Falcon Cooper Vuna in contention for Tonga as they meet Josh Matavesi's Fiji in Auckland, kicking off at 5.30am UK time.

Falcons prop Logovi'i Mulipola is part of the Samoa squad preparing for the curtain raiser at Eden Park, when they meet the New Zealand Heartland XV in a 2.15am UK-time kick-off.
