Premiership Player of the Season Vereniki Goneva returns for Newcastle Falcons on Friday night as they host Edinburgh, while a Falcons side has also been named to travel to Doncaster on Saturday.
A busy weekend sees the Newcastle squad split into two groups, Goneva coming into the side for Friday's final home pre-season outing against a Edinburgh team they will meet again during this season's Heineken Champions Cup.
The Falcons are looking to kick on from last weekend's 42-17 victory away to European and Pro 14 champions Leinster, Goneva returning as part of a side which also sees skipper Will Welch and England flanker Mark Wilson making their first starts of pre-season.
Hooker George McGuigan starts for the first time since rejoining the club from Leicester Tigers, Scotland centre Chris Harris earning a start following his summer tour exploits in North and South America.
Samoa prop Logovi'i Mulipola makes his first appearance for the Falcons since making the move north from Leicester, Sean Robinson returning from injury to take his place in the starting XV.
Tickets for Friday's game are included in the season ticket package, but season ticket members need to inform the ticket office in advance that they will be attending by calling 0871 226 6060 or emailing tickets2@newcastle-falcons.co.uk .
Only the East, West and South Stands will be open. North Stand season ticket holders will be housed in the South Stand.
Adult and concession tickets for non-season ticket members are priced just £10, with junior tickets only £5. To buy, click here.
Season parking passes are valid for this game. Non-season ticket members can park at the ground for £5.
Friday's game is followed on Saturday by the Falcons' final pre-season friendly, when they travel to RFU Championship side Doncaster Knights.
Dominic Waldouck captains a side which includes a debut for Fiji No 8 Nemani Nagusa, who forms part of a potent back row alongside Gary Graham and Connor Collett.
American international prop Paul Mullen is in line for his first appearance since arriving from Houston, England Under-18s scrum-half Callum Pascoe among a youthful replacement contingent for the 3pm kick-off, tickets for which can be bought from Castle Park on the gate.
