Newcastle Falcons' Under-16s returned unbeaten from the Wellington Festival as all 14 RFU regional academies converged for their annual get-together.
The young Falcons defeated Leicester Tigers 45-40 on count-back on Saturday to finish their week, having gone unbeaten during the week against Bristol, Gloucester and Harlequins.
Academy coach Aiden McNulty said: "The Wellington Festival is an incredible opportunity for players to learn and develop, and as a coaching team we are incredibly proud of the boys.
"The players were challenged on and off the field to think about what the 'game of the future' might look like, and how the might adapt their technical skills and tactical awareness.
"They had workshops on psychology, social media, nutrition and anti-doping, which broadens their understanding and awareness of what is needed in the professional game.
"The festival is about making memories which will support their on and off-field development, and was an outstanding success."
