Jack Metcalf joined Newcastle Falcons in the summer of 2024 from Doncaster Knights, and is equally at home at full-back, wing or outside centre.

Born and raised in Leeds, Jack was a latecomer to rugby, taking up the sport at the age of 17 after being an academy footballer at Barnsley FC and Doncaster Rovers.

Jack’s junior club was West Park Leeds and from there he graduated to the Yorkshire County team, playing for Yorkshire Carnegie in the Academy U18s League and making his professional debut for the club in the RFU Championship.

Serious financial difficulties at the club forced him to move to Sale Sharks for two seasons, where he scored four tries in his 12 senior appearances before joining Ealing Trailfinders.

Metcalf dotted down nine tries in his 12 games for the London club, spending a brief period in Australia with Eastwood RFC before joining Doncaster, where he scored six tries in 12 games during the 2023-24 campaign.
