South African prop Luan de Bruin joined Newcastle Falcons from Edinburgh in the summer of 2024.

Able to play on both sides of the front row, the Pretoria-born scrummager played for South Africa Under-20s.

Luan spent five seasons with the Cheetahs, playing in Super Rugby and the Pro 14.

Standing at 6 foot (1.83m) and weighing 20 stone 3 (128kg), he moved to Leicester Tigers in 2020, playing 17 games in his single season with the East Midlands outfit.

From there he earned a move to the Scottish capital, spending three years with Edinburgh, for whom he made 25 appearances prior to his Newcastle move.
