WORCESTER CLASH SHOWN LIVE ON BT
The crucial clash is one of many games been shown on BT Sport as the Premiership campaign intensifies at the top and bottom of the table.
Today, Premiership Rugby have confirmed that BT Sport will screen a bumper weekend of live rugby in March. For the first time since 2011, Aviva Premiership Rugby fans will be able to watch four live matches including Saracens’ trip to Wembley to take on Harlequins on Saturday 22 March (kick-off 3.15pm).
The live rugby marathon kicks-off on Friday 21 March when Worcester host London Wasps at Sixways, followed by the Wembley showdown which is back-to-back with Bath Rugby’s trip to London Irish (kick-off 5.30pm). The match at London Irish’s Madejski Stadium is Irish’s traditional St Patrick’s Day clash which always brings a bumper crowd to Reading.
The weekend of live matches on BT Sport concludes on Sunday 23 March when Welford Road hosts the game between Leicester Tigers and Exeter Chiefs.
“This is a television treat of the highest order when we will be targeting our biggest ever weekend TV audience,” said Premiership Rugby’s commercial director Dominic Hayes.
“Aviva Premiership Rugby fans have been telling us that they love the rugby coverage on BT Sport, and this latest list of TV selections feature some of the most famous rivalries in club rugby,” he added.
The month of March concludes with the conventional list of three live matches in Round 18, the East Midlands derby at Franklin’s Gardens, between Northampton Saints and Leicester taking centre stage.
The final round matches being confirmed sees Harlequins make the trip to the AJ Bell Stadium, the West Country derby between Gloucester Rugby and Bath all topped off with a re-run of last season’s Aviva Premiership semi-final when the Saints head to Allianz Park to take on Saracens.
